10:55am: It's official. The game has been abandoned. There's been no rain for the last couple of hours, but the intense downpour earlier ensured that the outfield couldn't recover on time. Chances of the game between California Knights vs Texas Chargers happening are slightly better. Let's hope it does. Goodbye from here.

10:50am: Still overcast. The covers are completely off. The outfield had something sprayed, presumably sawdust, on it. A player's seen jogging around. Eighty five minutes of play time have already been lost.

10:35am: Groundstaff are wringing the covers over the pitch. The big covers that were layered over the pitch earlier, are still sitting on the outfield. The clouds have gotten much darker. No rain, but no updates either.

nzbszb: "Quite a bit of luck you have there Atlanta!" Tongue in cheek? At least their washed out game against Texas Chargers has been rescheduled.

10:05am: There were multiple covers layered over the pitch and the squares. Some of them have been pulled onto the outfield, and the pitch is finally visible... for the first time in the day! Chances of the first game happening are still low.

Aslam Halo : "What happen.! Why not scheduled matches see after weather. Daily we wait but only saw rain ☔ " Sadly, the weather is too fickle to always account for, Aslam. The organisers, to their credit, have rescheduled some of the games though.

9:50am: The good news is that the covers on the square have been removed. But the big cover, on the pitch and the run-ups, is still on.

9:35am: Game should've started by now but the rain was super heavy earlier in the day. Weather's been good for the last 30-40 minutes, and despite the groundstaff's continuous work, the covers are still on.

9:05am: Toss has officially been delayed. The advertising behind the pitch is drenched. Patches of water are on the infield and the outfield. It's not raining as of now, the Super Sopper is doing its thing. Atlanta's first scheduled game was washed out, now the second one faces the same threat.

But all that excitement doesn't lead to a good transition for Morrisville Unity vs Atlanta Riders in Lauderhill 'cos it's rained down... hard. Covers have completely blanketed the pitch. There's a long strip of grass going along the pitches on the square. The outfield has patches of rain. Chances of play are low, let alone the toss happening on time.

8:45am: Spain winning the FIFA Women's World Cup is deservedly taking the limelight right now, but there's no shortage of cricket. There are all of 12 games being covered here on ESPNcricinfo today, with comms! One of them was Manchester Originals beating Northern Superchargers in the Women's Hundred, where Andrew Miller pulled off risky experiment, juggling the jugular with live ball-by-ball cricket comms and frequent updates from the football simultaneously, because... of course he did!
