The win will definitely lift India's confidence going into the series and months before the World Cup. After two high-scoring games, the two teams will face off each other on Wednesday for the third T20I in Navi Mumbai. Till then, this is Srinidhi Ramanujam, signing off on behalf of Ashish Pant and Binoy George. Goodnight and take care!

Kaur, the India captain: "We just thought we will keep backing ourselves. From the last game, we learnt a lot of things. Even we though we scored only 170-odd runs, we realised if we could have added some more runs or if some struck at better strike rate, we could have reached 200. Whether we are batting first or second, we know that we need to bat freely and bat with freedom. Those things, we discussed. There was no pressure [today], we just wanted to go out and execute it.

I am someone who has always backed Richa. During her early days, she was struggling a bit but I was always backing her. I'd like to thank our staff and selectors for backing her whenever she was not scoring runs. Today she showcased her power-hitting, which we have seen in domestic also.

Fielding is something we have been working from a long time ago and we just want to keep working on that."

Healy, the Australia captain: "We probably missed a little bit with the ball tonight. and they cashed in on that. I mean, what a game of cricket that was and what a showcase of fearless cricket that is over here in India and for thousands of people to be able to witness this is pretty special. I thought we did well to be in that game. India were all over us right throughout that chase. The fact that we hung in there, took it to Super Over, we can be pretty proud of that."

10.45pm Mandhana is the Player of the Match.

10.30pm So Australia lose their first match across formats in 2022. It was India who ended their winning streak in 2021 and it's India again who have handed Australia their first defeat this year.

After put in to bat, Australia finished on an imposing 187 for 1, thanks to Mooney and McGrath, who did the damage. The duo put on 158 runs for the unbroken second wicket - the highest partnership for Australia for any wicket in T20Is. They played smartly, picking up the gaps nicely and were keen on keeping the scorecard ticking with regular boundaries. McGrath's 70* and Mooney's 82* propelled the visitors to a competitive total but India were equally determined to chase it down.

It's not easy taking down the champions and Australia showed them why. Mandhana's match-winning knock of 79 off 49 and Ghosh's 26 off 13 were the highlights of India's chase and Vaidya's four off the final delivery of the second innings means the match was tied.

India then set a target of 21 in the Super Over which the Australians couldn't chase it down. After 42 overs, we have a winner here at DY Patil Stadium.
