Windward Islands wicket-keeper/batsman Junior Murray told The Gleaner
yesterday he is pleased about his recall to the West Indies' cricket
team.
"I am extremely happy to be back into the Test squad again on a full
West Indies tour," said Murray, who is playing for Surrey in the
County Cricket Championship here.
"I am looking forward to good performances with both the bat and the
gloves as I hope to cement my place on the team," he said.
Murray also believes that after playing in his last Test for the West
Indies nearly six months ago, his cricket has improved.
"My wicket-keeping is now on a high, thanks to Jeffrey Dujon who
helped me to correct my faults in Antigua some weeks ago. My batting
has come a very long way and I am confident and I believe in myself
whenever I go to the wicket," he said.
However, Murray said he was surprised at his exclusion from the
one-day squad that will tour Bangladesh.
"I was a bit surprised the selectors did not see me fit to go on the
one-day squad to tour Bangladesh as I thought that one-day cricket
would really suit my form of game," Murray said.
