Just 11.4 overs were possible on the third day as the warm-up game between the Pakistanis and Board President's XI ended in a damp draw. Play got underway only at 1.40pm local time, as heavy overnight rain had left the outfield damp. Mohammad Kaif and Dheeraj Jadhav resumed the innings and added 29 more before bad light caused yet another interruption.
The umpires finally decided to abandon the game at 3:15pm. The Pakistanis might have marvelled at the beauty of Dharamsala, with the snow-capped mountains forming a fantastic backdrop, but they have hardly had any time in the middle before the Test series. All three days have been dogged by forces of nature - with bad light and rain proving frustrating - and the Pakistanis may still be rusty when they take the field at Mohali.
