Shaun Pollock will miss South Africa's second one-day international against Zimbabwe at Durban, to allow more time for his injured ankle to heal.
Pollock also missed the first match at Johannesburg, although he was hardly missed. South Africa romped to victory by 165 runs against a side that will at least have been boosted by the impending return of their former captain, Heath Streak, who has made himself available for selection once again, after ending his dispute with Zimbabwe Cricket.
Pollock, meanwhile, will be replaced by the fast bowler, Charl Langeveldt, who impressed against England on his Test debut at Newlands earlier this year, where he took five wickets in the first innings despite bowling with a broken hand.
With an arduous itinerary ahead of them, culminating in a tour of the Caribbean next month, South Africa are likely to rest two key members of their squad , Graeme Smith and Makhaya Ntini, for the last match of the series at Port Elizabeth on Wednesday.
