Gilchrist to leave for Caribbean

Australian Cricket Board General Manager Operations Richard Watson today announced that Adam Gilchrist would leave for the Caribbean tomorrow to join the Australian tour party on its Coca-Coca tour to the West Indies

Australian Cricket Board General Manager Operations Richard Watson today announced that Adam Gilchrist would leave for the Caribbean tomorrow to join the Australian tour party on its Coca-Coca tour to the West Indies.
Mr Watson said Australian team management on tour had consulted with the National Selectors and they had decided that Gilchrist join the squad as reinforcement for wicketkeeper Ian Healy in the lead-up to the fourth Test match in Antigua, starting on Saturday April 3.
Healy has been experiencing problems with both calf muscles in recent days and Gilchrist will act as cover in case the Queenslander is unable to play the final Test in the series.
