Malcolm Speed, Australian Cricket Board CEO announced the Commonwealth Bank Cricket Academy squad to tour Zimbabwe.
The Commonwealth Bank Cricket Academy is a program of the Australian Institute of Sport.
The squad, which includes a mix of past and recent Academy graduates as well as members of this years intake, is:
  • Brad Hodge (Vic - 1993 intake) or
  • Simon Katich (WA - 1996)
  • Corey Richards (NSW - 1995)
  • Brett Lee (NSW - 1995 & 1996)
  • Nathan Adcock (SA - 1998)
  • Graham Manou (SA - 1998)
  • Graeme Rummans (NSW - 1998)
  • Mark McInnes (NSW - 1998)
  • Marcus North (WA - 1998)
  • Andrew Downton (NSW - part-time - 1998 & 1999)
  • Gerard Denton (TAS - part-time-1998)
  • Michael Klinger (VIC - 1999)
  • Ashley Noffke (QLD - part-time - 1999)
  • Tama Canning (WA - 1999)
  • Rod Marsh (Coach/Manager)
  • Max Pfitzner (Physio)
The captain will be either Brad Hodge (VIC) or Simon Katich (WA), depending on which team makes the Sheffield Shield final.
The tourists will play two one day games and three four day games. The last of these against Mashonaland should be the highlight as most of the highly competitive Zimbabwe national team will play for Mashonaland.
