The third match of this series will have to go some to beat the thrills of the previous game, where Chaminda Vaas used all his experience to thwart the Australian run-chase.
The series now moves on to the Premadasa Stadium in Colombo for the first of two day/night games which should decide the fate of this enthralling contest. Australia remain favourites to win - they are 4/9 to go 2-1 up - while Sri Lanka are a good-value bet at 13/8.
There have been no hundreds yet in spite of some very good batting performances on both sides. Mahela Jayawardene has continued his improving form - first glimpsed against England - with two more good innings. He is 5/1 to lead the Sri Lankan run-scoring, and 16/1 to be Man of the Match. Sanath Jayasuriya top-scored in the first match, and is 7/2 favourite to prevail in the Top Sri Lanka batsman market. Russel Arnold has returned to the side after a lengthy absence, and he is temptingly priced at 14/1.
For Australia, Matthew Hayden and Ricky Ponting both scored fifties in the second Dambulla defeat. The prolific Australian pair are joint-favourites at 100/30 to lead their team's scoring. At longer odds in this market are Michael Bevan and Simon Katich - both are tantalisingly priced at 9/1.
One name stands out for punters in the Man of the Match market - Muttiah Muralitharan. Sri Lanka's talisman is an attractive 15/2 to carry off the Man of the Match award. This market also offers longer odds on some of the in-form players - Chaminda Vaas is 14/1, while Australia's first-match hero Brad Hogg is outstanding value at 20/1.
