The Australian Cricket Board (ACB) today clarified a matter involving Victorian Bushrangers coach David Hookes and the ACB Code of Behaviour.

The Australian Cricket Board (ACB) today clarified a matter involving Victorian Bushrangers coach David Hookes and the ACB Code of Behaviour.
The ACB advises that the issue relates to public comment attributed to David Hookes in October about individual players. It does not relate to more recent comment, including reported remarks on the selection of the Australian A team to play England in Hobart from 15 November.
As further background, the ACB Code of Behaviour applies to players and officials employed by the ACB or state associations.
Alleged breaches of the code concerning off-field incidents are assessed by an independent investigator. In the current instance involving David Hookes, the investigation will be carried out by solicitor Brian Ward, who will then report to the ACB on whether or not he recommends further action.
The matter will be considered under clause 10 of the ACB Code of Behaviour, which is entitled Detrimental Public Comment.
If further action is recommended, a hearing will be conducted by an ACB commissioner, in accordance with procedures outlined in the ACB Code of Behaviour.
