ACB appoints Media Manager

The Australian Cricket Board (ACB) today announced the appointment of Mr Brian Murgatroyd to the position of Media Manager

The Australian Cricket Board (ACB) today announced the appointment of Mr Brian Murgatroyd to the position of Media Manager.
Mr Murgatroyd is currently working with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) as Media Relations Officer for the England Cricket Team.
After finishing his Arts degree in 1988, he started his career as a cricket journalist in 1989 and joined the ECB in 1997.
During his career he has covered cricket for the English and international print and electronic media including BSkyB, Reuters, The Sunday Express, The Daily Telegraph, Independent Radio News and Sky Sports.
In his current role with the English Team he has managed the side's relationship with the media and has toured internationally with the side, including last summer's tour of Australia.
ACB Chief Executive, Malcolm Speed, said that the appointment of Mr Murgatroyd continued the policy of getting the best people to work with the Board.
"Finding the right person for this job has taken some time and it has been worth it. Brian's credentials are impeccable and we are delighted that he will be joining the Board in this important role," said Mr Speed.
Mr Murgatroyd said that while working for the ECB had been enjoyable the move to Australia and to the ACB was a fresh challenge.
"Working for the ECB and with the England team has been an immensely enjoyable and challenging experience, but the opportunity to confront a fresh challenge has now come along and after much thought I have decided it is the right move for me," he said.
Mr Murgatroyd will start with the ACB in early September and travel with the team during the up-coming domestic season.
