Glenn McGrath has recovered from an ankle injury and is ready to return to international cricket. If Australia's tour of Zimbabwe goes ahead in May, McGrath would most certainly be part of their plans.
The Daily Telegraph quoted Trevor Hohns, the chairman of selectors, who said on Wednesday: "Glenn is 100% fit and raring to go. He has sorted out a few problems with his bowling that he probably found when he came back."
McGrath had made a comeback in February, playing in the domestic competition, but he wasn't picked for the Sri Lanka tour. "I suppose it would have been ideal for Glenn to play a couple more games but it wasn't to be," Hohns said. "We have to make a judgment on what we have got."
Hohns said that he hoped McGrath would recover his best form. "That's the unknown at this stage, once again because of a lack of match-practice. [But] we certainly hope so. He has been an integral part of our bowling attack over many years, so we certainly hope there is something left there."
The Australian squad will be announced next week.
