Inter League Cup: Accrington sneak through

Accrington pulled off the shock of the round in the last 16 of the Inter League Cup with a dramatic one-wicket victory over Central Lancashire League outfit Walsden.
Five Lancashire League teams made it through to the quarter final stages but Accrington's win at Thorneyholme Road came as the biggest surprise.
Walsden, who topped their league going into the Bank Holiday weekend, were skittled for just 142 as Kaz Shazad and professional Mark Bailey picked up three wickets apiece.
The home side looked in deep trouble, though, at 23-4 as they mounted a reply with Bailey back in the pavillion after being run out.
But a quickfire 57 from Matt Wilson, off just 65 balls, and some late-order support from Mark Burns, Tariq Hussain and Wayne Roberts saw Accrington home with one wicket to spare.
Elsewhere, there were few surprises as East Lancs made 186-9 against Royton, who finished eight runs short on 178-8 in reply.
Lowerhouse rattled up 183-7 against Norden and then dismissed the home side for 133.
Haslingden opener Barry Knowles followed up his 99 at the weekend with another half century as the men from Bent Lane past Unsworth's total of 136 without losing a wicket. And Roger Harper was also amongst the runs for Nelson as they pipped Todmorden's total of 163-7 at Centre Vale to win by three wickets.
But Enfield, Ramsbottom and Rishton won't be appearing in the last eight after bowing out yesterday.
Enfield were bowled out for just 53 against Rochdale who went on to wrap up an eight wicket win.
Middleton's 153-5 proved too much for Ramsbottom who fell 20 runs short at Acre Bottom.
And Rishton's 144-9 was never enough against Crompton, despite the efforts of John Seedle and Neil Wells, as the visitors won by six wickets with five overs to spare.
Results:
Royton 178-8, East Lancs 186-9; Ramsbottom 133, Middleton 153-5; Norden 133, Lowerhouse 183-7; Rishton 144-9, Crompton 146-4; Rochdale 54-2, Enfield 53; Accrington 143-9, Walsden 142; Unsworth 136, Haslingden 138-0; Todmorden 163-7, Nelson 164-7.
